United States – 4th of July Celebration

United States celebrated 4th of July with traditional fireworks and something unusual – the military parade on this day of independence.

Independence is a cause for jubilation. However, those who take pride in their independence denying others freedom and individual rights could not be free in mind and spirit.

Importantly, an independent entity would not be servile to any internal or external forces whims and fancies premised on malignant thoughts, Supremacy, fundamentalism and radical ideology fashioned towards kamikaze operation.

United States rejoicing self liberty while threatening other sovereign nations with conventional warfare, cyber attacks and economic sanctions subjecting targeted states and population to immense suffering and starvation exemplify self-imprisonment with no desire for emancipation from hegemonic goals.

United States house more than hundred inmates on alleged terror charges in Guantanamo Bay for nearly two decades declining due legal process to those held in isolated island amid destroying lives at will in terms of those inmates families and nations against whom continuous aggression exerted as prerogative.

Similarly, within United States the prison industrial complex has long been a profit center involving law enforcement, judiciary and penitentiary in particular linked to exploitation of law and order. The prison meant for reform is serving as revenue base for many behind the gamut. As a result, justice is discretionary rather than obligatory based on fairness and impartiality. 

Accordingly, independence is relative with those in position of authority exercising their power to hurt and harm innocent citizens as well as others regarded threats on unsubstantiated grounds freely engage in extra judicial executions witnessed throughout availing political impunity to crimes during their term in office.

Independent society would not allow subjugation at any cost and seek transparency at all levels barring preference and privileges aimed at holding all accountable and none above the law. 

Is the status quo even remotely in semblance to above mentioned definition of independence?

Such aspiration continue to remain a wishful thinking.

Politics has evolved into theatrics with prominent members in politics and political family performing scripted role in public. Under these circumstances, politics maintaining strong bond and association with entertainment industry should not be surprising. 

The corruption and criminality in politics blend well with entertainment sector ever starved for publicity, fame and fortune. Actors from entertainment world lured into politics and political figures fitting into specific characters are designed for mass deception. 

Together media deployed as propaganda apparatus amplifying shadow power run political establishment agenda. The routine conducted as autonomy to squash anything meaningful, positive and productive. The intolerance to tolerance being pervasive, sane alternative voices and perspective is persona non grata.

Political system representing incognito hegemon in the national and international domain function to benefit self and vested interests. The idea of independence in these settings is a misnomer considering hierarchical bondage with one group reining control over another in the pyramid scheme.

In the twenty first century, authoritarianism is the rule of law under the guise of democracy with despotism and totalitarian regimes fostered as democratic governments facilitated by rigged elections and illicit funds flooding campaigns to promote proxy victory. 

With puppet regimes installation, governance is cathartic and suppression of constitution and democracy conforms to the norm. 

Unlike the government of the people, by the people and for the people in a real democracy, shadow unscrupulous elements replacing people in pseudo democracy prevalent in the present world.

The government in the hands of selective few – the self-proclaimed elites running a muck is expected to be cheered and lauded as a free society with freedom to use and misuse power ad nauseam.

Human rights violations, broken promises and abusing public trust epitomize governance. Independence among ruling class and their affiliates is in abundance to excoriate earth’s resources and amass wealth lasting several generations leaving the overwhelming majority in abject poverty, hunger, disease and perpetual plight experienced over generations with no end in sight. 

Liberty is non-negotiable right of every being that has been reversed into subjective property of those unwilling to recognize their folly and ignorance in which they remain shackled deluding themselves as rulers overruling natural inalienable rights of others much to own captivity and capitulation to dominant negative vices within. 

Independence is symbolic until the free world manifest equality transcending gender, race, religion and other social barriers along with fair economic opportunity and respect for others life and rights displace the contemporary medieval feudalism imposing vassal statehood and diminutive values to exclusive advantage. 

Contrarily, freedom is pseudonym for political repression, economic recession and social regression.

Fourth of July is no exception.
