UN Vote – Abstention

Anytime a member abstain in UN voting whether at United Nations Security Council (UNSC ) or United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on any issue, such position by the member clarifies opportunism and lack of courage to take a stance one way or another.
Abstention in voting is nothing more than securing favorable position to suit own political and economic interests with both sides in dispute. Having little or no regard for the subjects and subject matter, the vote is null and void reflecting disloyalty in representation of either side.
Furthermore, abstaining to vote on international affairs or global peace and security one way or another otherwise choosing mute option or ducking to protect image is hypocrisy.
The yes or no vote is decisiveness unlike abstention indicative of opacity often confirming to be untrustworthy. The reservation is beneficial to none with membership made redundant in an organization like the United Nations.
It is at least clear about those who are on either side of the aisle in decision-making process. The ones abstain in voting have clarity and integrity deficit to be one or the other.
Abstention serve self-satisfaction and convenient in passing responsibility to others due to incoherence.
Abstaining is weak, wasteful and wavering in the absence of firm commitment.
Suffice to say – abstention is synonymous to blindside.
