Social Dilemma
(Part II)
Padmini Arhant
The numerous sexual allegations against prominent awards recipient talk show host Charlie Rose and some members in state and national politics are coming to light as victims of sexual harassment share their plight and emotional stress they have been subject to by sexual predators abusing power and influential status to subjugate women they hired to work for them.
Those who take undue advantage of anyone’s economic, physical and personal situation have nothing to live for with guilt reminding them of their criminal activity. Any achievements of fame, fortune and power at others expense and exploitation leaves them indebted to those they violate and their deeds eventually make them settle accounts as karma is inescapable.
Sexual harassment is a disease and an obsessive compulsive behavior for some offending and threatening victims of their choice. The intimidation of anyone regarded powerless could hardly be a matter of pride considering the harasser’s weak and cowardly action. Those who view women as nothing more than objects of pleasure reflected in their inappropriate sexual advances and indulgence or mistreatment with no regrets on indecent conduct regardless of stature and position they hold in society lack human values and dignity.
