The U.S. media is the news. The flurry of indecent episodes in Hollywood, Politics, Media and not long ago in tech industry continues in the sexual harassment saga.
The reporting and actions on sexual harassment incident shown in the replay of recently fired NBC ‘TODAY’ host Matt Lauer’s On Air behavior captioned Creepy On Air behavior in reference to show host Matt Lauer’s interview of Hollywood female actors is strange revealing the network’s late awakening.
The conduct described as Creepy now apparently not appeared so then when the show aired at that time. The move now to part with the show host Matt Lauer whose comments and manner the interview was done featured in repeat videos somehow could not be considered during the host’s sexual misconduct towards female guests on the show. Such presentations reflect poorly on the sources releasing the information and management for not acting earlier. The network’s late recognition confirms profitability through advertisements on the show was the priority over gender bias and show host’s inappropriate disposition.
In politics, the high profile position such as cabinet post viz. the Secretary of State in the administration is secure upon following cue from those in control of affairs i.e. external forces lest avoid disagreements on any and all matter.
The Secretary of State exerting authority with private server, secret emails channel, not accepting responsibility on covered up scandal like Benghazi gate resulting in U.S. ambassador and secret service personnel deaths including complicity in terror sponsoring finds no problem in holding the job until the end of the term.
Furthermore, the State Department extravagant spending barely accounted for during the term is not even a concern. In terms of handling the sensitive post, the toppling of democratically elected governments, inciting unrest in nations triggering sectarian violence and advocating terror factions to head government in foreign land…strengthen prospects winning trust and confidence among those behind U.S. foreign policy.
What does this mean?
Anything contrary like the sane and sensible approach to peacefully resolve conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy departing from traditional aggressive tactics and bellicose rhetoric evidently not acceptable. Accordingly, plans to replace the high ranking member with someone towing the line in this regard to maintain status quo regarded an ideal choice.
The ones who are willing to echo the sentiments of those in bully pulpit at the United Nations Security Council and in international forums on global disputes guaranteed job security.
The political events lead to conclusion that these designations deemed nothing more than serving the vested interests of those reining authority on global system.
Thank you.
