Medicare for All and Socialism Propaganda Debunked
Padmini Arhant
The self-enrichment politics emerging from drowning in debt and exiting in multi-millionaire and billionaire status overnight is socialism within political class i.e. robbing the hardworking ordinary to line own pockets by those at the helm in politics.
The ill-conceived propaganda on medicare for all or the Universal Health Care is disseminated as the socialist doctrine.
Those living in the present time as an adult or a child are all bound by mandatory health subscription known as the OBAMACARE which is health insurance held by all paid from their pockets and paying for those as well who are included in the compulsory health insurance but are unable to pay the necessary premium even in the open market place. This is factually health insurance by all paid by the middle and lower income.
Any federal government and / or state government assistance via financial aid to pay for medicaid recipients and families are also funded by a taxpayer working two to three jobs or generating business income working 24/7 – 365 days to survive and sustain growth in the doom and gloom economic environment with soaring inflation, interest rates combined with higher taxes on any boost in income.
The federal and state aid to any health insurance subscriber at anytime is typically paid for by the taxpayer availing the federal assistance within that period in the form of health care debt in the year end tax payment.
The health insurance being mandatory has not made the industry cut back on individual premium costs together with high co-pays and higher deductibles almost set at a level not less than $8,000 – $10,000 or more before health insurance payments on basic to any advanced health care.
The Obamacare aka the so-called Affordable Care Act that is proven the most unaffordable health plan for the middle class and average income families since inception in March 2010 and came into full effect in 2014 with penalty on non-subscriptions from then democrat Barack Obama Presidency and democrat party touting pro-choice only on abortion rights and none other when it comes to individual health decisions.
The recent examples denying Americans the choice are mandatory health insurance with penalty and then newly introduced with persisting issues COVID vaccine in 2021 – 2024.
Those expressing their desire similar to that of the democrat party’s one and only political slogan – the abortion rights, allowing citizens to make own informed decisions based on their health conditions and potential risks to them on individual basis were branded anti-vaxers often comparing those citizens concerns as anti-government and even extremists and terrorists.
Such policy in line with any authoritarian regime implementing one rule of law as the blanket rule across the spectrum without a care or consideration of the adverse impact on those with individual health problems posing possible health and wellness deterioration to them from the forced government policy on one size / measure fits all became the law of the land.
This unconstitutional undemocratic health insurance subscription mandate was appropriately repealed in 2019 under the former President Donald Trump and Republican Congress enabling effective competitiveness within industry to win health insurance subscribers with reasonable price in proportionate to individual coverage needs.
However, the mandatory health insurance was reinforced by the former President Barack Obama through proxy Presidency Biden – Harris administration immediately after assuming power in January 2021.
Obama ever remaining obsessed in prolonging own legacy regardless of the counterproductive experience for the overwhelming majority.
In contrast, the Obamacare / (Un)Affordable Care Act handing the health insurance industry almost the entire nation with significant percentage among 350 million population as subscribers on a platter unconditionally with compulsory plan enforced on Americans which incidentally has resulted in price gouging in health insurance and health care costs with no sign of the price coming down since 2014 and thereafter.
Meanwhile, the health insurance coverage is disproportionately adjusted in the negative trend rather than improvement in health care affordability to the middle class and lower income who do not qualify for medicaid but forced into mandatory health insurance subscription that are horrendously expensive with less than adequate coverage and more out-of-pocket expenses right now.
This health care reality continues despite the open market place to shop around in the specified window beginning October or November until end of January to switch or purchase any other available plan amongst the competing major health insurance providers in the industry with no urgency or necessity to make health care realistically affordable.
With the Obamacare mandatory health insurance reinstated in 2021 after the same was revoked under former President Donald Trump in 2019,
The health insurance industry maintains the standard practice on co-pays, deductibles and monthly premium adjusted higher or the highest not lower or the lowest with health coverage barely meeting the routines like preventive care, any visits to the doctor’s office and even outpatient procedures as part of necessary regimen in wellness program.
Obamacare having made compulsory health insurance as the norm with little or no benefit to substantial subscribers in the middle-lower income groups, converted the segment to pay for all those under mandatory health insurance with government aid to the below average income or those not prioritizing healthy living by choice with preventable health issues.
Nonetheless, to the exception of those dealing with any illnesses from hereditary or other factors leading to pre-existing health malady is all compensated by the above middle – lower income group in their subsidized health benefits not even close to the extraordinary health insurance maintenance required under Obamacare.
Obamacare / (Un)Affordable Care Act predominantly benefiting the deal makers in quid pro quo with health insurance industry in a sweeping government mandate is a bonanza to health insurance and health care industry as well as those signing the law on the whole.
The mandatory health insurance with minimum $1500 (that’s right) premium per month with any health insurance providers in the market place in addition to contribution to medicare via payroll is socialism in the enrichment of those in politics making the deal with the mega profiteers in the health industry.
As usual, the hard working everyday average citizens are compelled to toil for the quick rich scheme game players in politics and those with whom they strike mutually lucrative deals such as the Obamacare.
Health insurance subscription made to be purchased by all with health and economic benefits reaching the selective and designated members in society. There could not be any socialism worst than this under the current law.
As for socialism in other areas of taxpayer money spending rather generous distribution directly hurting ordinary American lives many even pushed into survival on food stamps and struggling to make ends meet are;
The government hand out to wealthy allies such as EU in subsidized or next to nothing expense to EU on NATO alliance at American taxpayer expense.
Yet another one being, substantial monetary, military and technological aid as the long-held tradition to affluent state of Israel at American taxpayer expense.
These norms fit the description of socialism distributing American taxpayers’ dollars generously to EU and Israel, the two economically rich beneficiaries resigned to status quo as U.S.taxpayer obligation.
Politics and media rancor on socialism on the topic of health care and economy related to ordinary Americans directing focus on the reversal of the existing socialist norms designed to benefit those with the most who need the least would exemplify economic prudence.
The policy change would unburden the unfair burden on ordinary lives and their next generation in line.
