Canada – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s invite to China’s People Liberation Army (PLA) to be trained by Canadian defense force in Canada appropriately struck down by Canadian defense chief Jonathan Vance expressing concerns on potential espionage activity is a refreshing change to political miscalculation in dealing with adversarial positions.
China’s detention of two Canadian citizens, Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig, after Canada arrested Meng Wanzhou, an executive and daughter of the founder of Chinese electronics and communications giant Huawei is a situation requiring diplomacy and direct dialogue between two nations sparing any unnecessary escalation of tension.
Meanwhile, Beijing’s release of Canadian citizens Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig guaranteeing safe return back home would be an important step towards international relations. The pandemic having seriously affected Beijing’s image and credibility among global citizens,
China’s efforts in the treatment of foreign nationals visiting the Far East nation for business, leisure, education, cultural and importantly political designations as diplomats and foreign government representatives would substantially benefit Beijing in restoring international trust and normal ties with China.

China – Beijing’s hardline approach and persecution of political dissenters in China and Hong Kong is a major setback for China’s political leadership.
The recent arrest of female citizen journalist Zhang Zhan for COVID reporting presenting actual data charged as causing trouble and sentenced to 4 years in prison underline CCP’s little or no tolerance to factual information, free press and free speech characteristic of abuse of authority.
The internal conflict within politburo on communist party leadership Xi Jinping’s misplaced priorities involving military interventions and interference in foreign affairs i.e. elections in the United States, South Korea, India and Pakistan…to name a few exacerbating political stability.
The national issues such as economy, health and natural disasters further intensify domestic struggles among population. Notwithstanding COVID-19 posing the greatest challenge to economic recovery in the domestic and international domain.
China’s CCP leadership respect for human rights in China and other territories declared autonomous regions viz. Xinjiang Province, Tibet and Hong Kong besides Taiwan sovereignty subject to extreme violations are not favorable for a nation vying for international acceptance on global superiority.
Accordingly, Beijing release of citizens sentenced to prison in the latest arrest namely Zhang Zhan and other peaceful political activists previously detained in unknown locations causing enormous pain and agony to their families in China would essentially determine China’s human rights record.
P.S. International Political Crisis will shed light on events in other parts of the world viz. Belarus, Israel and elsewhere.
