Condolences to
K2 Mountaineers
Padmini Arhant
My sincere condolences to families and loved ones of brave hearts who presumably lost their lives on their K2 summit.
The mountaineers of Pakistan, Iceland and Chile – Ali Sadpara, John Snorri and Juan Pablo Mohr respectively sadly went missing according to international news reports. The subsequent update declared them having lost their lives after extensive comprehensive search by Pakistani authorities in the Pakistan-China border region.
Public information on K2 range:
K2, at 8,611 metres above sea level, is the second-highest mountain on Earth, after Mount Everest at 8,848 metres. It is situated on the China–Pakistan border between the Baltistan region in Gilgit−Baltistan, Pakistan and the Dafdar Township in the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang, China.
Elevation: 28,251′
The fact the mountaineers attempt and pursue their dreams in itself is an achievement.
Mountaineering pose myriad mysterious mystical challenges unbeknown that can be startling and bewilder human psyche.
Mountaineering safety and protection of lives could never satisfy the unpredictable especially while being situated at an elevation of 20,000 feet and higher above sea level.
Nonetheless, the desire and aspirations to scale the peaks and mountain range near and far could be exercised and experienced with caution and preparedness to accept tribulations and triumph.
With admiration and prayers for the souls in the tragic event, I extend my deepest sympathy to their grieving family and friends in the difficult times.
In cherishing pleasant memories about the deceased expedite healing process for the survivors and relatives.
Sincerely,
Padmini Arhant
