Charity amid Calamity

When the chips are down, dark clouds looming across the sky, there is a silver lining with some ordinary people displaying their extraordinary gesture to feed the hungry, jobless and anyone in need of food.
The local Indian Sikh community in the state of Indiana, United States maintaining the Sikh religious tradition ( Langar – free meals round the clock barring race, religion, gender, caste, creed, class) continued in observation of lock down through distribution in lunch box is indeed heart warming.
Sikh community generosity at all times with community services expanded to maximum during emergency and crises is a well known factor in India and abroad.
Any effort from anywhere to feed the hungry, quench thirst and extend monetary support to the worst affected, economically weak and vulnerable sections in society is the hour of the need.
All those engaged in great humanitarian service providing food and basic essentials to those struggling to make ends meet, homelessness and other serious economic conditions amid battling the contagion virus are much appreciated.
To everyone of you doing your best with your kindness and compassion to ease the burden on individuals and families affected in the health and economic challenge – Keep up the great work!
To all Sikh brothers and sisters –
Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akaal!
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those coming forward to help fellow citizens in the extreme difficult moment confronting the global population.
Thank you.
